From March 13th to March 19th, Mr. Qin Junman, Chairman of the Board of NFC, led a delegation of executives from the CHINCA member companies, including Shaanxi Huashan Group, Beijing Urban Construction Group, China National Machinery Industry Corporation and Power China International Group, to attend a international exchange and cooperation event in Ethiopia and Germany, co-organized by the CHINCA and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

This visit is the first joint event organized by the CHINCA and GIZ on international sustainable infrastructure and Sino-German cooperation. Representatives from the German Embassy to Ethiopia, African Union, German Business and Economic Development Agency, International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation(GIB) and Chinese companies in Ethiopia attended the seminar in Addis Ababa. Chairman Qin delivered a speech at the seminar where he stated that sustainable development has become a popular topic that draws wide attention from the international community and that consensus has grown in the industry worldwide that strengthening international cooperation and giving full play to one anothers advantages are key to achieving long-term sustainable development. He added that the purpose of the visit is to step up communication between Chinese contractors and German/African counterparts, and to promote concrete Sino-German cooperations in the field of infrastructure projects. The participants fully exchanged views and discussed issues related to "Sustainable Infrastructure" and "Sino-German Business Cooperation in Africa". During their stay in Ethiopia, the delegation visited the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia, new Addis Ababa airport project, headquarter of African Union and Ethiopia-Djibouti railway project.

The second session of the event was co-hosted by the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), German-African Business Association and GIZ in Berlin. In his speech, Mr. Qin pointed out that Chinese companies have developed many projects that benefits the local people in Africa in recent years, but encountered with difficulties in financial supports and different building standards. Compared with Chinese companies, German counterparts have advantages in capital, technology and management. If combined with Chinese experience and African resources, the parties will be able to create a triple-win scenario. The delegation visited China Europe International Exchange and the European International Contractors (EIC) during their stay.
