Share Transfer Completed - NFC Holds Dairi Prima Mineral

NFC President Wang Hongqian attended the closing ceremony of share transfer between NFC and PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRM) in Jakarta on Sept. 20th. After the transaction, NFC holds 51% of PT Dairi Prima Mineral (DPM). DPM, whose main asset is the Dairi Lead-zinc mine in Indonesia, is 100% subsidiary of BRM.

 

Dairi Lead-zinc mine, one of the undeveloped high-grade lead-zinc deposits in the world, is located in North Sumatra province of Indonesia. The amount of metal resources is super large and the ore grade is high. The project has a designed capacity of 1 million tons per year and is expected to be completed and put into production by the end of 2021 with a total service life of about 17 years.

 

The Dairi project is an important step for NFC to implement the “Belt and Road” initiative. President Wang Hongqian commented that NFC’s investment in BRM combines the strength of two giants in mineral industry, which will boost the comparative advantages, create synergy, and enhance core competitiveness for both parties. NFC is committed to work in joint hands with BRM to build Dairi into a exemplary project of Sino-Indonesia cooperation, creating job opportunities for the local people and facilitating social and economic development for Indonesia.

 

Charge d'Affaires ad interim of Chinese Embassy in Indonesia also participated in the ceremony and made speech. He said that NFC and BRM’s share transfer is completed at a historical period of time when the bilateral exchanges has stepped up to a new level. The Chinese Embassy in Indonesia would support such in-depth cooperation as always.
