The 14th China-ASEAN Exposition (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit was held on Sept. 12 in Nanning, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. NFC president Wang Hongqian attended the opening ceremony at invitation. One of the highlights this year is that ASEAN is expanding its coverage to more countries related to the Belt and Road Initiative and Kazakhstan joins as a specially-invited partner. This is the first time a country along the Silk Road Economic Belt has participated in the ASEAN as guest partner.

The 1st China-Kazakhstan Regional Cooperation Forum was held on Sept. 11 during the summit, Chinese Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli and Kazakhstan First Vice-Premier Askar Mamin attended and delivered speeches. Mr. Wang Hongqian joined the forum at invitation as representative of companies participated in China-Kazakhstan capacity cooperation, introducing NFC’s contribution and development in nonferrous metal industry in Kazakhstan, sharing experience and advices in business operation in the market and exploring cooperation potentials in new projects with other participants.

On Sept. 12, Mr. Wang Hongqian met with the high delegation of Laos led by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, exchanging in-depth ideas on NFC’s bauxite investment in Laos and exploring external conditions and practical scheme for project implementation. Deputy Minster expressed that government would support NFC’s development in Laos as always, and would like to create various favorable conditions to promote a sooner start for the aforesaid bauxite project.
