Recently, Tran Hong Quan Metallurgy, the project owner, granted an early completion incentive to NFC for Phase I of the 450,000-ton-per-year Dak Nong Electrolytic Aluminum Project in Vietnam in accordance with the contractual provisions. The incentive will be shared by NFC and the major contractors participating in the project. On July 14, 2026, the project team successfully achieved first aluminum production, 51 days ahead of the contractual schedule. The incentive represents the owner’s high recognition of the project team’s efficient contract performance and project delivery, as well as full acknowledgment of the concerted efforts of all participating contractors in overcoming difficulties and challenges and advancing project construction.
At present, Phase I is making an all-out effort to achieve its targeted production capacity. The operating performance of the reduction cells continues to improve, production capacity is ramping up steadily, and the operations team is being progressively strengthened, enabling a smooth transition from the construction phase to the operational phase. Meanwhile, construction of Phases II and III is advancing in parallel. Major construction works are now in full swing, with equipment procurement and installation progressing in an orderly and coordinated manner. The project has thus established a well-coordinated implementation framework, with Phase I in operation, Phase II under construction, and Phase III advancing through engineering and procurement.
The achievement of first aluminum production ahead of schedule and the subsequent receipt of the contractual early completion incentive not only demonstrate NFC’s comprehensive, end-to-end EPC service capabilities in overseas markets and further enhance the company’s brand influence in Southeast Asia’s nonferrous metals sector, but also provide valuable experience in localized project management and a proven case for the application of Chinese technical standards in subsequent electrolytic aluminum projects.
